I do not see what the programmer earns from saying a lie like it. The opposite. It is a better achievement to do a good program in less time so if the programmer want to say that he is a good programmer he can say that the program is under a developement for less time. You also can know only for sure if you do not trust the programmer that the program is at least 2.5 years old because you cannot know about the exact time that the programmer developed it without doing it public.
