IMHO, I prefer array board for Chinese chess. My reasons are..
1.It's very awkward to extract any bit(square) from a 90 bit signature.
2.Bitboard also has many advantages in evaluation() eg. specific pawn
mask,passed pawn mask ,trapped rook  mask etc. I think you cannot
make use of these features in Chinese chess.
