The problem in that game was that the rook was in front of the pawn, which is already evaluated in Crafty. However, the evaluation was ineffective after some other tuning I had done. That was fixed that same night. My above comment should have said "except for one case, everything looked ok..." :) as reaching the position with the rook in front of the pawn ought to be avoided if possible.
