If there's no author requirement, I wouldn't mind particpating with a random
engine or even a program decided by the other participants. Unfortunately, it's
virtually impossible to get a computer account at FICS if you're not an author,
unless you know someone. That alone makes ICC much more interesting for those
inclined to run programs at chess servers. Not in my case though, because it
wouldn't be very often.
