There are (too) >many clone accounts on FICS. It's no problem at all to get an account. Most of them are old accounts before the restrictions were implemented or by virtue of knowing an administrator. I applied for a computer account once to try an early Yace verson and play a few matches against a friend. I _never_ got a yes or even a no, despite mailing them once a month at the beginning. So in my opinion they're completely incompetent. But I'll try again if their site is up and if it's possible to make a request for a computer account. That isn't always the case. Mogens.
