As I said Bruce, beeing anonymous does not only have the above
intention.
It is not a question of bad reputation.
Why do you think do hollywood actors not run normal through the streets
but
with dark sun-glasses and strange clothes and very fast ?
Because they have a bad reputation. When they go shopping or when they
talk to people in a supermarket or in a discussion somewhere they would
like to be handled NORMAL and not like a star.
I am far away to be an actor or a star. But i have found out that
people, especially I am interested in because they have DIFFERENT
OPINION than I have, do NOT say what they think when they read: he is
xyz, known as writer in xyz...
Having NO sign in the breast with the name on it, having no REAL-name in
such a forum is the only possibility for me to get a NORMAL interview or
chat with people.
If you want to discuss computerchess and tell the people : I am the
ferret programmer, they will not discuss the same way as if they would
discuss to
"Ivanhoe the unbeatable". I don't believe that Ivenhoe has a bad
reputation or something to hide.

I don't like this name/fame/glory game.
For me names are unimportant, for me age is unimportant. I am not
interested in Dr., Dipl.Ing. or Prof. or whatever. I like to read ideas
of OTHER=different people about my hobby.

Whenever you /or Rolf claim that people using anonymous names have the
target to hide or throw away their dirty reputation, i feel a certain
kind of anger, because i don't have this in mind.

I have e.g. never taken an AUTOGRAPH from a chess-programmer.
This is not my topic.

Best wishes.
