Although I like the GT engine of Christophe very much (so I have bought both, the Rebel and then the Chessbase version to spend money for further developements ;-)), I have to mention that there are some severe bugs in the CB Tiger GUI. Since I found not a single post on this here, I do not know whether people here have recognized it! If you select the playing style of GT2 in the engine properties dialog some changes are written to a file named 'engines.ini' but not to the file 'ct.ini'. Unfortunately GT only reads the playing style given in the 'ct.ini' file. All other porperties like 'player is human' seem to work. From my point of view the guys at chessbase (or Christophe?) have forgotten to test the playing style option because it isn't available in CT 14. I have verified this very soon, when I played some Nunn Matches and GT 2 as well as GT 2 aggressive played exactly the same matches! To change the playing style, one has to change the value MoreGambit in the 'ct.ini' file! The 'Gambit Tiger' section in the 'engines.ini' seems to be useless! Also a database function (like deleting a game with the <del> key doesn't work anymore (in both Tiger GUI and new CB8 update!)... Maybe I should apply for a job as beta tester... ;-) Nice trouble shooting, Frank
