Maybe I have an answer for the mistery...
a) The programmer of LCd stuff -at least the chespest- is Mr. Ron Nelson, former
programer of Fidelity Electronics even before the arrival of Spracklen couple.
He invented the Fidelity Challenger line. So Mr. Nelson has been asociated with
Samole family since ever and sometimes that counts a lot.
b) Nelson is propietary of the hardware design that makes operative Excalibur
cheap stuff. It is a clever miniature processor capable of doing everything,
including playing bad chess. It is so tiny that you could no believe it. So it
is veeeery cheap and so makes possible to sell these units almost for what you
have as pennies in your pocket. Else: In this harwared only Nelson stuff runs.
