At 9:00am Saturday morning on ICC, "Project(C)" will be playing "petrovich(GM)" in a 30/10 match. Petrovich(GM) is Kiriakov Petr, a 26 year old GM. He has been a GM since 1998, and is currently rated 2546 FIDE. Project(C) is Deep Shredder 5.0, running on a dual PIII 1000mhz machine. I will have 256MB hashed for the game, and running a tournament book, which is really nothing more than the standard Shredder opening book with about 200+ games of learning. Project(C) played "garompon(GM)" last nite in a 15/5 game, and was only a few moves from being crushed. I would expect that Petr will likely do the same. I have agreed to give Petr white, and in the event he wins he will be compensated. In other words, he is playing for a nice sum of money, so he will be playing his hardest. I expect to go out of book early, and for Petr to develop a kingside attack, while hanging a pawn or two opposite of his king. While Deep Shredder is collecting pawns, he will be setting a mating net. I fully expect to see the same tactics as played in the garompon game. Only Petr will have more time, and therefore of course, so will Deep Shredder. It should be interesting none the less. I invite all to watch the game. Slate PS Petr is currently the 8th highest rated (standard) player on ICC, 3 behind garompon.
