Since you mentioned this (not that easy), I wanted to see this position on Mate 2.0, that come with Hiarcs, but then saw that it will be not easy. Mate 2 don't indicate time when it search for mate and don't say it at all once mate is found. Obviously, it will be too tedious for me to look all the time in order to recognize when program found the mate. Went to see in what time my program see mate. Response was mixed. In 8 moves brute force was slow, 38 min, and selective quick, 0.82 sec. For 7 moves, brute force take 6 min and 39 sec to say that mate is not found. Cheers, Leonid. >Cheers, >Heiner
