Offline reader is a nice project for people that already know about CCC and want to download the archives. To allow people that don't yet know about CCC and don't want to download the archives to research computer chess issues, the easiest way would be to put them up on a password-unprotected Web server in an uncompressed format. This way search engines that do deep spidering and allow full-text searching like Google (some inbound link may be needed to make the archives appear important enough for Google), FAST, or Altavista will be able to index them. Disk space is cheap and the bandwidth requirements should be low if the archives are broken into < 100K-sized chunks. gzip HTTP compression could be used to further reduce required bandwidth.
