I disagree.

Junior and Fritz played for the right to play against kramnik.
Junior,Fritz and Shredder played against humans in the israeli first league

It seems that other programmers are also interested in games against humans

Deep Junior achieved performance of more than 2700 in dortmund.
P.Conner achieved performance of more than 2600 in another tournament.

  Who cares about how computers play

I care
I also believe that there is a correlation between being better against programs
and being better against humans.
