We could sure save a lot of energy if we went around filthy. ;-) Sounds like the monitor and the printer are the trouble-makers from your post. 500-140=360 watts (180 each, if they are the same). I'd buy one of those cute little 'monitors on a stick' that you clamp to your head like the one in the computer advertizement, but then I might be sitting in some beautiful European square and screaming "Up-up-up! Down! Buy it! Buy it!!" instead of looking at all the pretty old-stuff. But I agree that "green products" are better if they can do the same job. And also if they don't transform us into whinging twits (or at least even more whinging twits than we already are).
