I don't think that matters too much with the search depths that Fritz already gets. >and how many time will be the games?? Good question. Usually they do 15 minutes a game to have a chance to beat the GM. As a GM i would never agree on having 30 minutes, but well they see it different; as an opportunity to earn money without losing anything if they lose. >Also, Somebody know what kind of machine will use Deep Fritz to play against >Kramnik??? whether it's 4 processors or 8 processors that's not real interesting. For sure it's a fast machine, but it would be cool if chessbase releases the logfiles of the games short after the match. > I can“t see any information about the -kind of machines they will use (Mhz, >Ram? etc)in the Chessbase page. If it's a 8 processor then the fastest machine you can get is 8 x 700Mhz. That's 5.6Ghz together. >Too, i believe that Deep Fritz is a bit better, (running in 8 procesor machine) >than Deep Blue 97 version...(the same that won against Kasparov) Is this >right? I wouldn't give a penny for Deep Blue playing fritz or any other program of today. The weakest chain of fritz isn't so weak that you can easily beat it with a gnuchess searching 11 ply and an automatic generated book that's a bit hand tuned by a GM who knew shit from computerchess, but of course like everyone a lot from kasparov. >I need that Chessbase will need a lot of hard work! if they want to repeat like >IBM did against Kasparov in 1997. Anyway i think that it is very very difficult >that it happen again. It will be a Dream! Kasparov should be shot for that match yes. This match will be very boring. Kramnik wins a few games and either he's so confident that he tries to win the others too, or he takes a few draws for a sure match win. That's what i would expect. The only risk Kramnik can run is if he plays berlin defense. Fritz will play berlin defense with white hell better as kasparov ever did. Kasparov did get some great chances in all games he ever played against the berlin defense, but in the end then kasparov didn't push forward too hard. Kasparov is the biggest player ever if queens are on the board and the position isn't technical but sharp and home prepared... Kramnik is probably the most boring player in the top 5 of the world, but without doubt worlds best player, because in chess you can FORCE your opponent to get a technical and strategic position. This is why kasparov lost from Kramnik. This is why fritz will lose chanceless from Kramnik. Fritz only hope would be seeing something in a deep line which gives it a positional advantage, which kramnik missed. However the evaluation in fritz isn't sufficient for that. Diep would've been a better choice there. > >Thanks... > >Best Regards! > > >Tanya > Deborah.
