wasnt there a discussion about good and bad chessplayers as chess
programmers? pawn majorities, and what to do and whether to exchange
pieces when you have the kingside / queenside majority is something
which i'm pretty sure most 1800s have no idea about. i would say, at
least it doesnt hurt to know something about chess when you're writing
a chess program. this looks like a good example...
