I don't disagree with that.  But the "I won't tell as otherwise everyone
will be 2x faster" is a somewhat poor statement to make here.

Again, I have said this about the commercial guys _many_ times.  They take
ideas.  They even take code.  They give nothing back.  There is nothing we can
do about it.  So I don't waste a lot of time worrying about what I can't
change.

You seem to be saying "I am revealing more than them, so that makes what I
say OK."  I am saying "you reveal less than a lot of us here reveal, so that
doesn't make it as OK as you think to make that kind of statement."

I used to have that kind of problem with my kids from time to time.  "But dad,
XXX does something even worse all the time..."  I responded "But YYY does
something better all the time...  Which would you rather be closer to?"

I doubt it will bring me money, fame or glory over the long-run.  And I really
don't care.  I publish my stuff, because lots of people helped _me_ in the
1970's (with programming ideas) and in the 1980's (with fast hardware).  It
seems (to me) reasonable to do the same myself.
