On the other hand, we also benefit from the professional programmers. The hobby programmers simply cannot dedicate the time that the professionals can, and cannot create all of the features of a full commercial product. If they must keep information back to keep their competitive edge, I understand that. It would be nice for them to share, of course. If all the commercial programmers divulge all of their professional secrets, probably some of the amateur programs could soon play as well as the professional ones. Then, they might lose sales and have problems. Will we really like that situation? (Not that it is sure to happen, but it could be possible). At any rate, I think sharing is better. That's why I want to stay on that side of the fence. But the professional programmers clearly benefit us as well.
