It is specifically tuned to cause problems for opponents that want to draw. (this is _very_ common on ICC). IE it will frequently make unsound pawn breaks to keep things active. (If there ever was a "gambit program" crafty is probably it, if you watch it make positional pawn sacrifices regularly on ICC.)
