I haven't found the win for black after. 1. Rxd6 Kxd6 2. Kb4 Kc6 3. g4 g6 4. h4 yet, before that variation is proved to win for black I don't see the need for the alternate 2. g4, and it seems good too. But all the same it feels good to have that resource also. The main variation as I see it (and thats only a matter of taste), is. 1. Rxd6 Kxd6 2. Kb4 Kc6 3. g4 g6 4. h4 f6 5. c5 h5 6. gxh5 gxh5 7. Kc4 f5 8. Kb4 e4 9. Kc4 f4 10. Kd4 e3 11. fxe3 f3 12. Kd3 Kxc5 13. e4 f2 14. Ke2 Kd4 15. Kxf2 Kxe4 [D]8/p7/8/7p/4k2P/8/P4K2/8 w - - 0 12 and the position is drawn, trust me it is ;) I just don't think it is necessary to look at alternate variations, as your 2. g4, unless this one is refuted. Mainly I prefer this variation because black actually risks loosing the game. Regards Dan Andersson
