You are correct. It cannot see the mate after Kxa5, so it's not accessing the tablebases. I didn't realize that the GUI could access the tablebases. I thought only engines did that. Don't really understand why the GUI accesses the tablebases anyway; it's the engine that needs that info. JOHN
