There is almost no end to the amount of knowledge you can add. If you tell me
what kind of endgames you wonder about. The most crucial ones are: pawn
endgames, pawns aginst piece and optional pawns, pawns and piece vs pawns and
piece. They are most important because almost all endgames reduce to then at
some point. There is a vast canon of knowledge in pawn endgames alone. And there
are two different kinds of pawn endgames, blocked and dynamic pawn engames. The
outcome of a pawn ending is most often decided by a mutual pawn race or in some
cases opposition and infiltration. Automatic adjudication of pawn races in leaf
nodes are beneficial, a bonus proportional to the distance between passers,
sorting pawn pushes higher in the movelist, more pawn advance extensions, special
code for evaluating rook pawn endgames, etcetera, etcetera...
If you want a really tricky endgame, try:

And the analysis by Albert, Ferdinand and me, seems to show that the win was not
so simple as it seemed.
