I think Rebel 9 is the best program against human players. In Aegon and over the years, Rebel did systematically better than other programs against strong human opponents. Junior has been doing very well in Israeli team championships. Fritz 5 had some impressive performances against people at game in 30 minutes. Fritz 5, Nimzo 98 and Genius 5 keep playing very strong chess at faster time controls. Hiarcs 6 and Rebel 9 still do very well at 30 seconds/move on a fast computer, while Junior 4.6 and Mchess 7.1 are probably the top programs that suffer the most in games faster than 40/2.
