15 months ago I had the "brilliant" idea to spawn a new message board called GCF - General Chess Forum. Well, not every idea I have fits into the category of genius. It was a bomb. A flop. A disaster. A dud. Fernando and I have had several discussions recently on how we can resurrect the message board by changing the concept. We have come up with the Chess Thinkers Forum. The basic premise is that chess players ALL have one common interest: chess, but they also have many divergent interests. We would like to offer a home for those thoughts - a place where you can go and speak your mind about issues that interest you. The board will be VERY lightly moderated just to assure that the forum is not used to bypass the rules of this forum and keep youngsters (or oldsters) from coming on just to stream a bunch of epithets together. Since the concept is brand-new, it may start a bit slowly, but, if you visit and do not see what you are looking for, drop by again. It is already getting a bit interesting. Whenever you allow Fernando to "shoot from the hip", you are likely going to enjoy the results. I know that I do. You can click on "Chess Thinkers Forum" from the CCC Message board. Your password for the CCC is the same as for the CTF. In a couple of days, we will be doing a mess emailing to our entire database informing them of the new forum. Hopefully, the CTF will do what i had hoped the GCF was going to do, and that's give the CCC a run for the money - activity-wise. Steve
