Some soccer players have very basic techniques, but are extremely effective in scoring or defending. Some soccer players are technically excellent, but are having great troubles to make that technical superiority effective. What do you want to know? Winning from (or being on par with) GM's, and being effective, or having deep understanding of the chess game? Chess computer technology is fairly new the way we know and experience it. Plenty of time to see it develop. The effectivity is there, no doubt. And now for the deep understanding. J.
