They do tend to shred tactics that would work well against people, but some of them are like playing against a ball peen hammer, just waiting for it to whack you in the forehead. I stopped worrying about winning, but the only time I ever play the game anymore is if a new program comes out that I want to try. >I >was just thinking that perhaps grandmasters have alot more fun playing them then the rest of us, since they have more winning chances. Just a thought. Do Grandmasters actually have fun? The ones that I saw at a tournament a couple years ago just generally looked pissed, they didn't look like "fun" people. Have you tried looking into anti computer style games? http://www.angelfire.com/on/anticomputer/index.html Let's be realistic here, in order to beat your opponent, it helps to know the nature of your opponent's game, and if you're playing against a program, then THAT'S who you're playing against, so it only makes sense to play in a style that has a chance of winning the game the way I see it.
