I recently acquired a new PC, and installed CM8000 on it (custom installation, not sure by memory what I installed or omitted; I usually skip the intro video, and don't use tutorial features or voice move announcements). When I try to run the program I get the following error message: A fatal error occurred initializing Sound playback. The program will now terminate. I know there were some comments a while back about CM8000 and Sound Cards. My PC is Athlon 1.33GHz, DDR 266 FSB, 512MB PC2100 RAM, with nVidia G-Force 64MB Video Card and onboard sound. Any tips to resolve this problem? I can live with no sounds (if I could turn all sound settings off--but how to do this?), and sometimes I like just the basic sounds when the pieces move. I haven't yet tried to uninstall and reinstall (perhaps more carefully selecting the custom installation components). Thanks in advance for any help. --Steve
