With todays advances in computer hardware speed, engines that are more knowledge-driven than DF or CT can surpase them in elo eventually. For now they often lose on tactics which is beyond their horizon; in the future the chances of detecting these tactics because of greater search depth are increased. The only question is: how fast should this hardware be ? Ron P.S. It's not my intention to discus how 'knowledgeable' the different engines are. My point is just to state that more knowledge will benifit more on better hardware than "less-knowledge".
