Yep. No definition that is agreeable for everyone has been found yet
and some people still have the idea they can actually find one.

Thats your interpretation. Other people will disagree with your
definition, with your data and your interpretation of it.

'Evidence' is a really bad word for those reasons.

What I saw (I didn't see everything, I have more to do than read this forum
all day) was someone using a list of sub-2500 ELO GM's to support his
statement that 2500 ELO is enough to be a GM.

Robert pointed out the flaws in that statement by using an example
of old GM's. Someone tried to refute the general argument by attacking
the example.

That's obviously flawed, and this is what I pointed out.

You want to know my opinion? I think comparing GM's and computers
is senseless.

And if you are going to do it anyway based on the criteria for a GM
title, you don't have enough reliable data (yet).

So people here can argue all they want, I'm not going to be convinced
that computers are or aren't GM strength ever. I could agree with the
statement that a certain computer meets the criteria for a GM title,
if that would ever happen AND computers are included in all FIDE
rating lists AND sufficient time is given to let the ratings settle.

And that is not going to happen anytime soon...
