Eddie, the point is that Dr. Hyatt *defended* Ashley's claim to the title. He
said that arguments about GM strength are irrelavant (and necessarily
subjective), and that Ashley produced the 2600+ norms so has every right to the
title. Your response regarding bigotry and prejudice seemed confusing to me. I
fail to see how Ashley's race entered this conversation. As to black GMs, Sultan
Khan, who defeated the almighty Capablanca in a historic game, would definitely
get the title, though he played before Fide started handing out the titles.
