Are you going to try fiddling with some of the parameters too?

I have not been able to tune depth left (was at 6), SE margin
(was at 50) and extension amount (was 1.0) to better values than
my initial guess due to other obligations.

I'd be surprised if my first guess would turn out to be the
best one :)
