http://www.seanet.com/~brucemo/gerbil/gerbil.htm It hasn't been long since release 00, but I have been busy, so there are some pretty extensive changes: 1) A few bad bugs have been fixed. 2) The program has very simple pawn structure eval, which makes it a lot stronger in my opinion. It's been hovering around 2400 on ICC, although it's still weaker than many other computers, and stronger humans can bash it due to its complete lack of understanding king safety. 3) Epd2Wb has been extensively changed in order to try to support older engines. I'd be delighted if anyone wants to test some older engines with this. I've included an EPD file (ECM) in the release, if you'd like to use that. Epd2Wb can now be downloaded by itself if you don't want to deal with the rest of the project. 4) The engine should now work on older versions of Winboard. 5) There's a weak Loser's chess engine included. 6) Various command-line switches are supported. Thank you, bruce
