Chessbase defines everything that is x minutes per game or x minute per game+y minutes per move as blitz. x and y cannot be bigger than 999 but 999 minutes per game+999 seconds per move is defined as blitz under chessbase(you first need to ask the computer to play blitz and only after it you can choose x and y). 1 minute/40 moves+1 minue/40 move+1 minute per game is defined as tournament time control under chessbase. Blitz has nothing to do with the time that is needed to complete the game and it means only that you have not x minutes/y moves time control. Uri
