Pah - if somebody SPLIT the field than it was the ACTION of ChessBase
against the ssdf-guys and their decision to make an exception with
Fritz5.
There was NO NEED for such a behaviour.
It disturbed the fair-play in the list.
THIS SPLITTED the group.

IMO the decision of Ed and others to stop competing against somebody
having a hidden autoplayer system is only a fair reaction.

I would do the same. A competition has to be fair. And not SPECIAL
rules.
