I my program will only play 3 0 against humans, its rating would go up, assuming strong people played it. Once it got its rating up, if I allowed select people to play 2 19 against it, they would win at a higher rate than you'd expect. If I allowed one automatic computer to play against it, same deal. So essentially you can feed selected accounts points this way, assuming they are strong enough to beat you now and then, and there are enough suckers who will puff your rating by playing time controls that are extremely challenging. One of the reasons mine is not on very much is that it's not worth it. I put it on there and eventually it gets timed out, without playing any games. It's rated 400 points below programs that are as easy to beat. Why play a program in order to win 8 points when you can play another one to win 24? So yeah, I don't like the idea of "!computer" accounts that only play 3 0 or whatever. They are rating pigs that hog all the strong human opponents. bruce
