I would not trust that in an engine.  IE I assume 256 in Crafty, just in case
there is an odd position that no one thought of.  I have seen 200 move positions
more than once.

This probably depends on the players.  And how "endgame phase" is defined.  I
could imagine some players going beyond this. :)
