The problem is I have to do this after *every* move which is extremely
annoying as I'm not always in the lucky situation to have two machines
to test on.

Yup. Simply deleting "nimzo.wav" (or whatever it's called) helps.

I have seen it in every game. The pawn move was an exception, but often
it says "Qf6xd6" when there's no piece on d6 and sometimes even "Qf6-d6"
when there *is* a piece on d6... :-(
If you never saw it, maybe it's CPU/OS related?

Good info, but I never use an opening book editor anyway, besides
Nimzo98 is my first Nimzo. :)
