There is still the problem, that Fritz5 was rated using a special auto-player supplied by Chess Base, which no one else had, with an unually larger amount of ram then the programs it played, that it was up against. For the rating list to be truly fair, all programs have to be run on the same hardware (If not thae same computer, adjustments are made regarding processor speed, ram, ect., about the machine), with the same capabilities. As much as I'd like to believe Fritz5 is the strongest, I won't believe it, until the top programs are re-rated, and from the start, on the same platforms and auto-player's. Until that happen's, time alone, is not a satisfactory answer. mrslug - the inkompetent chess software addict!
