I would simply suggest that you grow a thicker skin.  network messages and
news and email are different than face-to-face communication.  Realize that
and lose some of the "sensitivity".  Once you realize that the other person
might be "smiling" just as easily as he might be "grimacing" you realize that
you have to read everything in several different "lights" before you understand
what he really meant.

If you don't learn to cope with the difference between face-to-face and
electronic (delayed) communication, you are going to miss out on a lot of
enjoyable things.

Don't assume everything is an insult.  Ask "did he answer in a short way because
he was pissed at me?  because he thought my question was stupid?  or was he just
very busy?"

If someone says "you are a jackass" then you can assume he is insulting you
unless he happens to love jackasses.  But if someone says "your idea is stupid"
then he may think you are perfectly reasonable but that idea is not.  That
doesn't have to be "personal".
