I recently purchased a new Tbird 1200 Mhz computer running W2K. I installed Fritz 6 on the machine and then went to the Chessbase site and upgraded to the latest version (May 12 2001 build). I then copied the CD's opening book General.ctg to my hard drive and removed the read only designation from all appropriate files. From an administrator level account I run Fritz and load the opening book. In the opening books tab I see all the moves. When I play the program it will not make a move from the book. It thinks out a move and plays the new move (ignoring the book). If I am in the opening book I can click on the move and the move is made on the board. However it does not do it on its own. In the book options I have the following settings: Use book selected Tournament book selected Minimum games = 1 Other than loading the book this is all I have done. I have loaded a number of other opening books from other Chessbase programs with the same result. I was running Fritz 6 on my Win98 - 1st edition, notebook (earlier build of Fritz) without this problem. Any ideas? Bob
