Yes.  Deep Shredder was set to only use 1 thread.

I have a special "scheme" on Windows 2000 I set so that when I do have a
tournament, I set the affinity of both programs and other processes to make sure
that the programs are recieving their fair share of CPU power.

Even on a computer with 1 cpu, all that crap running in the background often
pops in and steals a few seconds of CPU power - I tune it to where one program
doesn't get those "pop-ins" more than the other.
