That would solve most debates about (killer) books etc. In some sense the opening book is an integral part of the whole package, and thus is part of the "total" chess strength of the machine. But the issue here is to measure the relative strengths of chess programs, and for this I think shuffle chess is a lot more accurate. Jack van Rijswijck.
