Well that is ofcause a matter of opinion, but i would say that (for chess) any
machine from 1gig and up is to be considered "decent" the top of the line will
be Dual 1.2 AMD, Dual xeon 4 1.7, but most importantly you can never (unless you
spend 200 million $) have the fastetst hardware for more than a month or so.
I have always wanted a dual system and am going for the Dual AMD because it will
probably be the fastest and cheapest solution, when all MB manufactures joins in
and makes a dual board for amd, also my 1.3ghz T-bird is almost as fast as a
dual pentium 3 1gig, so no point in going for that(for me anyway)
