Subject: Shredder,s book demolished by Adam & Leko

Hallo Chessfriends,
Since I got WM-Packet 2001 for free from Millenium,I will try to explain
the performance of Pocket Fritz against GM Adam and Leko.
First, Shredder,s naivete as to allowing exposure of its product in
such manner is simply astonishing. In my opinion its book is in adequate
to play against GM,s. I really expected to see a version of Fritz plus
Shredder for the pocket version.
Second,Shredder can play against any program sucsessfully, but I have not
seen any games against the worlds best GM,s prior this event. The game
against the World recently played had a pre-condition as to its opening
selection. Had Stefan Meyer-Kahlen allowed the world team to exploit
his opening book by starting at move one,the book weakness would have been
exposed. For Stefan,s sake, please improve Shredders book prior public release
of this pocket version. Just look at game one and game four, were Shredder
was taken out of book, its performance level is below 1800 elo rating,
Shredder deserves better.
Best regards,
Kurt Widmann
