I came across a mention to a program called HEARSAY which was developed at CMU in the late 60's or early 70's i believe, and was a speech recognizing program that played chess. [A probably apocryphal story claims that during the final testing by someone from the funding agency, while the microphone was being connected this guy cleared his throat, which the program promptly translated as 'pawn to king four'.] Any information on the program and of its relation, if any, to subsequent ones would be appreciated. Thanks Roberto
