HiTech was a special-purpose hardware machine, just like deep thought, etc. So was belle. Chess 4.9 was written in assembly language for the CDC Cyber 176 or CDC 7600 machines. No longer available at all. Nuchess is the only feasible choice. You might ask David Slate as I am sure he has a copy laying around. It was written around 64 bit words, however, and also vector hardware... It would be slow on a non-cray probably.
