Subject: yes the GMs are almost playing on a comp level, but not quite yet

you guys have been on my rear(cant say butt here), to admit that the worlds top
human chess players, the GMs, have finally acheived what the world recognizes as
the top level in chess, the computer chess level.

and i know that a lot of my friends(hehe) here, are real dissappointed
that i wont come out and join this large group that is convinced the GM has
finally achieved a comp level of play.

well i could be persuaded that the GMs are comp level, but they are just not
there yet.

it is obvious that most of the top players are too busy with other issues,
and are not studying the hours it takes to reach this level.

in game after game the GM level of play shows its shortcomings in positional
play and tactics. it is obvious to all that the GM is not doing the homework
required to beat these micro-switching, cold-blooded, positionally passionate,
ruthlessly reckless, snickering silicon machines.

i will not join this group that continually hounds me to admit that the GM has
finally achieved a comp level. not until after several hundred more games
that i can analyse to see if the GM continues to blunder, and plays into losing
positions, in comp games.

and another thing, if the GM does not become more passionate with his studies,
and start devoting more hours in the day for chess study, i feel that i will
never be able to admit what you want. for you see the comp and the comp program
is constantly being improved upon. and i find with the GM not playing on this
comp level now, well i just dont see how they can catch up with this comp
level in the future. i forsee the gap widening between the GM and the comp chess
program level.

i will always be amazed by the GM. he is our top human level.

the only thing i see changing in the future, is a very large increase in sales
of computers and chess software to the GM for home study.

thanks and have a good day
