A Quack? Hrm. let's see who the quack is here:

1. Number of people helped to create chess programs:
   Bob: Hundreds (including myself)
Odell: none (as far as I can see)

2. Number of world class chess programs written:
Bob: Several (Crafty, Cray Blitz, probably others)
   Odell: None again

3. Number of technical questions answered regarding computer chess:
Bob: Thousands (RGCC, RGC, on ICC, and here)
Odell: Given the beneit fo doubt, a couple

4. Number of programs released *entirely* to the public
Bob: One world class program (Crafty)
   Odell: Absolutely none again

5. Number of people who recognize as a clear and respected expert in computer
chess:
   Bob: Just about everybody
   Odell: None

6. Number of PhDs in Computer Science held:
   Bob: 1
   Odell: None again

Perhaps you can tell me again how Bob looks like a quack, and you don't?

Chris
