No, CA can only be hooked to ICC. ICC's help in successfully developing several
of the interface's unique abilities was crucial.

Because of the thread, I will add that Chess Assistant Light will come with a
completely functional ICC interface, with only a few minor limitations such as
two boards visible at a time, and engine observing will stop beyond a certain
number of moves. The graphical and sound profiles will work fine as well, so
users can create their own and exchange them if they like. If there are any CA6
users who are interested, I have a couple I made that I can send you. Any and
all Winboard engines will work perfectly and one will be able to use CA Light to
run engine-engine matches/tournaments and limited test suites. However it won't
be possible to configure commercial engines such as Chess Tiger 14 (included in
the commercial package) for example.
