Hi, I am new to this forum. I am planning to run three chess playing programs. (1) Hiarcs 7.0 for Macintosh on a Macintosh (systems 8.1 to 9.1). (I assume it will never be available for OSX.) (2) Fritz 6.0 for PC on a Macintosh running Virtual PC with a version of Windows that will work best. (3) And Hiarcs 7.0 for PC on Virtual PC. Could I ask if any of you have experience doing this. For example: (a) Does Hiarcs 7.0 for Macintosh work well on all OS 8 and 9 systems? (b) Do Fritz 6.0 and Hiarcs 70 for PC work on Virtual PC? If so, what version of Windows would be recommended? Internet description of Fritz says it runs on Windows NT, 2000, 98, and 95. Information for Hiarcs says it runs on Windows 98 and 95. (c) Has anyone tried Hiarcs 7.0 on both Macintosh and PC and compared strength at comparable machine MHz? I assume that if I wanted maximum strength I might get a 4-8 processor PC (4x1.8GHz) and run Deep Fritz, or some such setup, but I don't think I need that at this time. Thank you in advance for you kind assistance. Charles
