Junior 7 did much better vs. GambitTiger than vs. ChessTiger and often had him balancing on the edge. But it is Tigers resistance capability that let him escape several times and save the half-points. All in all it was an open, equal match with an open exchange of blows. But none of them really played convincingly. Assuming that GambitTiger has come back after the desaster vs. Shredder 5.32, I still miss sovereign play . ChessTiger does much better and plays constant. That and the match results vs. Junior 7 and the other opponents both have played in the meantime are the reasons why in my humble opinion ChessTiger is the stronger engine. But wait for the resting match results, maybe GambitTiger can suprise me?! The 5.5-4.5 vs. Junior 7 is no real win, it was an equal match which should have ended 5.0-5.0 although an 5.5-4.5 is still an even result. There are some exciting games with the more riskful play by Junior 7 whose playing style is much more entertaining than its predecessor's but I got the impression that Junior 7 lacks a killer-instinct to finish the impressive games with the according result, a win. At the moment I am twisted, on the one hand Junior play phantastic games, on the other hand it is often not enough to win the game. Maybe vs other opponents than the Tigers? You find the games at http://www.geocities.com/Harald1312/HaraldFaberE.html Next match will be vs. Nimzo 8. Let's see how this match goes, both programs haven't convinced so far. I expect a result in the range of 6.0-4.0 up to 7.0-3.0 in favour of GambitTiger. Comparison: ChessTiger won by 6.0-4.0.
